Our Emmeline Skirt is an elegant long, linen Edwardian walking skirt perfect for Edwardian costume or a modern vintage style look.

An elegant and feminine skirt which sweeps to the ground, it is typical of the styles worn from 1890 to 1908 in the era known as the Belle Epoque or the Gilded Age. Perfect for historical re-enactment, theatre or steampunk. It can be worn as a lightweight summer skirt, or wear it over a petticoat with high necked blouse for full Edwardian effect.

Made from a lovely quality 100% medium weight linen, the skirt features gored panels that skim the hips then flares out with pleating in the back for extra fullness with a sweeper train. The back is approx 4"/10cm longer than the front. The waistband fastens with a button at the centre back and features a decorative button tab detail. The skirt is trimmed with a narrow velvet ribbon band in your chosen accent colour in a high-low style and the button detail at the back waist will be colour matched to this.

The linen fabric comes in a broad range of colours. Simply choose from the drop down menus and enter your waist, hip and waist to floor in shoes measurements in to the notes box.

Your skirt will be handmade to order by me in my Lincolnshire, UK studio and can take up to eight weeks. The linen is washable and I professionally serge the seams and stiffen the hem with a light crin braid. I choose the most appropriate shade of ribbon and silk to tone with your chosen colours.
