The Catherine is a beautiful, fitted, cropped jacket or 'Spencer' to give it it's correct historical term. It is very typical of Regency costume as worn by the heroines of Jane Austen.

The spencer features a traditional roll collar with a single fastening at the centre front, the deep 'v' being very flattering. The sleeves are delicately puffed at the shoulder with decorative petals and button detail while tapering down to the wrist before flaring over the knuckles. At the back a small peplum flares out creating another decorative feature.

The jacket is made from a beautiful, crisp silk dupion. It is trimmed with piping in either ivory, blackor matching silk and matching 'deaths head' or Leek buttons as shown on the modelled photos (please note the photos on the mannequin show more modern passimenterie buttons. If you have a preference let me know in the notes box). There are so many silk colours to choose from we can only show a small selection here, but hopefully one of our curated colours will appeal to you. The jacket is lined in either black or white cotton lawn and the front buttonhole is stitched by hand. The rest of the jacket is mostly machine sewn with a little hand finishing.

MADE TO MEASUREMENTS
Not everyone fits standard sizing so I make everything to the measurements you provide. This means lengths are just so and widths are just right. For some items like skirts I will only need a few basic measurements, but complicated items like jackets will require you to fill out a measurement chart. Once you have placed your order, if necessary, I will send my measurement chart and instructions PDF in a message. Please see my shop policies for more FAQs about my service.


TO ORDER:
Choose your preferred colour from the drop down menu along with your trim colour. Once you place your order you will need to complete a measurement chart which can be found in our members' area. Feel free to pop any other notes in the box, particularly if you want the jacket to work with a gown or bonnet you already own (although please note we cannot guarantee colour matches).

As a custom piece this item is professionally handmade at my Lincolnshire, UK studio. Please see the delivery section for details of my current schedule, but it is usually around 8 weeks plus shipping time.
