This listing is for a lovely lightweight, striped cotton Edwardian petticoat, the newest addition to the Blue Lady Couture Classic Collection.

It is designed to be worn under our longer Edwardian Skirts or wear it as a beautiful, summery skirt in it's own right.

It is made from a lightweight, poly-cotton which comes in a range of colourful stripes. The pattern is based on an original Edwardian design that is cleverly cut to keep the stripes straight in front while making the wonderful chevron effect at the back. The hem features a ruffled band of horizontal stripes to give some additional fullness. The skirt is darted onto the waistband to keep it smooth and flat and the extra fullness is pleated into the centre back where it fastens with small buttons and hooks and eyes. The petticoat also has a band of crinoline braid to help it flare out too.

You can also choose to add pockets to your petticoat too, handy if you do intend to wear it as a skirt. They are more reminiscent of 1910s designs, but they add a fun decorative detail if you like stripes on stripes.

PLEASE NOTE:
If buying to wear under our Edwardian Skirts, be advised the darker stripes can show through the lighter skirt colours.
If wearing as a skirt, we recommend bloomers or a slip underneath as the cotton is lightweight.
Also this is a different stripe fabric to the bustle and jacket we also offer.
