This is the beautiful, Jane cotton gown. It is inspired by the Regency costumes worn by the heroines of Jane Austen.

The dress features an elegant  cross over neckline with modesty insertion. It fastens at the back with buttons and an underbust drawstring for a snug fit. The sleeves are delicately puffed at the shoulder and gather into a narrow cuff. The skirt of the dress is lightly gathered under the bust with tighter gathers at the centre back giving the beautiful column shape of the early Regency era.
 
*Please note! You MUST wear this gown with a petticoat underneath or you will cause a scandal!*
Lizzie and Emma petticoats can be ordered seperately in a range of different colours to create your own unique looks with this gown.
 
The dress is shown in one of our new and exclusive gauzy cotton fabrics: Dobby Stripe in white and photos show it worn over both the Lizzie (white) and Emma Petticoats (blue) to show the different effects.
The gown is made from a beautiful, 100% gauzey cotton muslin fabric. This is the quintissential fabric of the era! The gown is unlined as is traditional of these types of gowns at the time, but you must be aware that these fabrics are semi-sheer!
 
It is recommended that you wear a chemise and stays under or a good supportive bra and slip for a more period silhouette.
 
The gown is mostly machine sewn, but the hem, sleeve cuffs and neckline are finished by hand.

MADE TO MEASUREMENTS
Not everyone fits standard sizing so I make everything to the measurements you provide. This means lengths are just so and widths are just right. For some items like skirts I will only need a few basic measurements, but complicated items like gowns will require you to fill out a measurement chart. Once you have placed your order,  I will send my measurement chart and instructions PDF in a message. Please see my shop policies for more FAQs about my service.
