A beautiful 1880s style bustle gown in 'magnolia' silk effect taffeta which was made as a Victorian style bridal sample piece for Blue Lady Couture. 
 
The outfit consists of a fitted jacket in the cuirass style with panel lines which flatter your waist and at the back an elegant peplum flares out over the bustle in a very fashionable 1880s style. The sweet heart neckline features a delicate pleated organza collar which extends down the bodice and sweeps around the hip  with ivory lace accents. The jacket fastens with pretty, vintage buttons at the front and features elbow length sleeves. The floor length underskirt is flat at the front while pleating and gathering at the side and back allow for the voluminous bustle shape. The hem is trimmed with a beautiful pleated organza and ornate ivory venice lace. Over this is worn the elegantly draped bustle which features pleated side swags and lace edging. This buttons onto the skirt waist. The swagged apron front ties around the waist and features more lace and a water fall ruffle of pleated organza. These two pieces can be removed for a simpler look.

The pictures show the dress in our standard polyester taffeta in 'magnolia', but passes well for an authentic period silk. The pictures also show the dress worn over petticoat and bustle pad (not included) which gives the period silhouette. The skirt is unlined to keep the dress as light as possible, but you will need a petticoat to keep the light colours from appearing sheer.  

The jacket is lined in a pretty poly viscose paisley jacquard and is traditionally flat-lined and overlocked to make any minor alterations easier.
 
It has only ever been worn for the photo shoot shown and has since been stored in my studio with occassional display at events. It's time to pass this piece on and the price reflects the gown being an ex-display piece. There is a small mark on the top of one sleeve shoulder.
