This regency jacket is the beautiful Elizabeth Regency spencer, inspired by the one worn by Elizabeth Bennet when she opens Mr. Darcy's letter in the '95 Pride and Prejudice. Perfect for promenading the streets of Bath or countryside rambles around Rosings Park this spencer can be made in a range of colours to suit all tastes.
***The linen is manufactured and dyed in batches and occassionally the shade can vary slightly from the sample. On this occassion I decided that the shade was a bit too light which makes the piping detail contrast a bit more. This is the only reason I'm selling this ready made, because I re-made another for the client it was originally intended for***
-Fitted bolero style jacket called a 'Spencer'
-Historically inspired costume piece
-Would suit Bust 40-42"
-Arm measurements would suit approx: top arm 13", Forearm 11", Wrist 7", arm length 23"
The spencer is made from our beautiful linen fabric and features a soft high collar and fastens with three fabric buttons matched appropriately to your fabric. It also has a ribbon drawstring under the bust to ensure a snug fit. The main feature of the spencer is the dramatic petal topped sleeves which taper down to the wrist and then extend to the knuckles. The jacket is fully lined in plain cotton to compliment the linen colour and is also used on a little bit of piping detail around the cuffs and button loops.
